The Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi is the premier fine art institution of Government of Rajasthan to promote, spread and develop Rajasthan's fine art culture. It is a non-profit, autonomous body, funded by the Ministry of Art and Culture, Rajasthan. In pursuance of its role, RLKA holds exhibitions, institutes scholarship, sponsorship, fellowship, assistance schemes, Lifetime Achievement Awards, and publishes documentary material.
Founded by the State Government of Rajasthan in 1957, the Lalit Kala Akademy aims to motivate and support the regional art and artists of the state.The Akademy has been framing and successfully running many different programs as well as timely campaigns in the direction of its vision.A number of initially set up programs are still being held at regional level, including Yearly Art Exhibition,Fellowship program,Individual/Group Art Exhibitions, providing financial assistance Artist,Art Institutions,Art Libraries,Art publications,etc. Many newly formulated programs like the state art exhibition,state art seminars,state art camps,smriti vyakhanmalaye, film & Art documentation, Annual Art Exhibhition (Varshik kala mela), Student Art Exhibhition (Chatra kala mela) etc. have also been initiated which prove to promote the State Art and Culture.
